MOVIE FILMING IN WHITNEY - LOOKING FOR EXTRAS

.

.

We got this invitation to extend to our members, for upcoming auditions for a movie being shot in Whitney.
Please read on.

Thank You,
James Hoffman
VP- Lake Whitney Arts

Lake Whitney Arts Association and friends:

I would like to welcome you to audition for "Hayseeds and Scalawags". The film is about Paul returning home for his sister Tanya's birthday and running around town on a scavenger hunt escorted by Tanya's best friend, Ashley. Scripted at 60-odd pages, we expect it to be an 80-100 minute feature (the town of Whitney is playing the starring role of "Paul's Hometown" and we want to make sure it gets lots of chance to talk on camera).

The shoot is from August 22nd to the 31st with re-shoots and location pick-up shots later if necessary. Since we are featuring a ton of outdoor location photography, the need to have a loose schedule is going to be paramount for us - if it's raining, we'll shoot indoors that day; if it's perfect, we'll be outside - you get the idea. We have a good number of supporting roles and a ton of roles for featured extras and non-speaking extras. We are going to be looking for that easy country charm - an ability to be yourself and be comfortable delivering a few lines of dialogue or just to behave naturally on camera: no one is going to be chased by any monsters in this film (though at some point Paul will most likely be chasing a goose...). Paul and Ashley are pre-cast.

We will hold physical auditions for supporting roles at the Lake Whitney Arts Association building Sunday, August 1, 2010 beginning at 3:45 and scheduling in :15 minute increments. To be considered for a supporting role (dialogue, blocking, significant screen time). To schedule an audition time, please prepare two times on Sunday you can make it (example: 3:45 or 5:30)., and then contact James Hargrave with headshot or clear, candid photograph via:

1) email (preferable) at namedjames@gmail.com
2) phone (be prepared to leave a message) 469-855-9740.

** We do NOT need to see those who wish to be considered only for featured extra (1 or 2 lines of dialogue, some blocking) or extra (no dialogue, minimal blocking). **
** To be considered for featured extra or extra: email James Hargrave at namedjames@gmail.com with the following:
1) A clear, candid photograph of you alone (preferably not a photo taken by you, though that is ok)
and
2) your availability during our shoot (Aug. 22 - 31) - the more availability, the more likely we can make good use of you as an extra.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
James Hargrave
