Always.. Pasty Cline Auditions
.
Mark your calendars ! "Always....Patsy Cline", the critically acclaimed production, debuts at Lake Whitney Arts Association theater on February 13th. "Always....Patsy Cline" is the remarkable heart-warming story based on the friendship between Patsy Cline and fan, Louise Seger, who met Patsy before a show she was giving in Houston in 1961. "Always...Patsy Cline" is based on the true story that developed after Patsy met Louise at a Texas honky-tonk. The two women corresponded until Patsy's death at age 30 in an airplane crash on March 5, 1963. The show takes its name from Patsy's signature on her letters to Louise. She signed each one the same way, "Always....Patsy Cline". The production features more that 20 of Patsy's most memorable songs including "I Fall To Pieces", "Crazy", "Blue Moon of Kentucky", and "Sweet Dreams" which became a hit shortly after her death. Originating the role of Patsy for our stage will be Whitney's own vocal powerhouse Angela Montgomery. Gale Warren performs splendidly as Patsy's fan and friend, Louise Seger. Patsy Cline's fans continue to feel a powerful connection with her through her timeless music and remarkable story. As an audience member you will be inspired and uplifted by this truly remarkable story as well. So, if your thinking of a unique special Valentine gift for your sweetheart this will be a gift she will remember for years to come. There will be one dinner show on opening night, Saturday, February 13th, with tickets being $20 including the dinner. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm and the show will follow. AUDITIONS ANNOUNCED HARVEY - by Mary Chase This comedy in three acts was popularized by the 1950 movie of the same name, starring Jimmy Stewart in the part of Elwood P. Dowd. When Elwood P. Dowd starts to introduce his imaginary friend, Harvey, a 6 1/2 foot rabbit to guests at a society party, his sister, Veta, has seen as much of his eccentric behavior as she can tolerate. She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare her daughter, Myrtle Mae, and their family from future embarrasment. Problems arise, however, when Veta herself is mistakenly assumed to be on the verge of lunacy when she explains to doctors that years of living with Elwood's hallucination have caused her to see Harvey also! The play calls for 6 males and 6 females and will be directed by Mr. Glenn Standly. The audition dates are as follows: Saturday, Feb. 20th at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22nd at 6:30 p.m.
