To promote the Fine Arts by encouraging community support via dramatic presentations, education and providing programs that engender the cultural profile of the community.
In 2004, a group of local citizens came together in support of the idea that the community could benefit from additional outlets that would encourage the area’s wide range of artistic talent. The group envisioned a venue that would showcase actors, artists, sculptors and others who contributed to that category known as “Fine Arts”.
As the result of that first meeting, Lake Whitney Arts (LWA) has since purchased its own theatre building; produced numerous plays and musicals; created a Children’s Theatre Division; sponsored and juried art shows; and provided classroom instruction for those interested in the various aspects of art and theatrical production
Our future vision includes a full-scale performance and visual arts complex that will house a new stage, arts’ gallery, educational classrooms, additional rehearsal space, concessions area and administrative offices.
